Family Foundations Counseling offers services to all individuals regardless of religious background.
Seek First God’s Kingdom
Our Christian worldview holds that God has created all humans in His image. As part of
being in God’s image, everyone has the right and responsibility to exercise his or her free will and to determine the course of their life. We believe we aid human flourishing by providing non-judgmental, empathetic, and compassionate support for individuals in their journey. It is in the process of successes and failures that we learn.
Although people have shared common experiences, everyone is unique and distinct. So, we strive to pair you with the therapist, skills, and modalities to support the goals you set for yourself. Our counselors cover a wide range of ages, life stages, and treatment approaches. There is no one-size-fits-all. Counseling modalities include Family Systems, Emotionally Focused, Narrative, Attachment, Cognitive Behavioral, Dialectic Behavioral, Psychoeducation, Solution Focused, Trauma Informed, Addiction, Motivational Interviewing, among others.
Servant Hearted
“It is one thing to be in the role of a servant; it is quite another to be servant-hearted. The
first is a job description that one functions in; the second is a response to gratefulness from being deeply impacted by love.” At Family Foundations, in each of our roles, it is our endeavor to deliver professional services with a servant’s heart. The counselors at Family Foundations have a Christian, Biblical worldview but are available to serve all people.
Speak Truth In Love
Author Eric Metaxas writes, “There are two ways in which someone can err. One is to speak so much “truth” with so little love that he is not actually speaking truth. The opposite of this is an equal problem: to show so much ‘love’ that you are misrepresenting the real love of God and are forsaking God’s truth in the process. It is a counselor’s ethical responsibility to “do no harm.” Providers at Family Foundations strive to selflessly and intentionally be both loving and speak truth.
Gender Identity and Sexual Orientation Struggles
Currently, “There is a fierce public debate over how best to help minors with gender
dysphoria” and unwanted same-sex attraction. At Family Foundations, we have chosen to support those minor clients who prioritize their beliefs over their feelings with regards to their gender identity and/or sexual feelings. Family Foundations providers oppose any law that violates a client’s freedom of religion, self-determination, and our responsibility as professional counselors to conduct ourselves ethically and honor our clients’ rights. We choose to cooperate, support, and clinically treat those minor clients with the goal(s) of becoming comfortable with their biological sex and/or reducing unwanted same-sex sexual attraction.
