Biography
I grew up in Southern California. My interest in counseling was sparked by my parents who I saw invest in others while they worked for many nonprofit ministries and churches. Over the years, I have spent much of my time serving in local churches, creating and overseeing mentorship programs for pre-teen and teenage girls as well as coaching competitive swim teams. As a student-athlete, I learned many life lessons including perseverance, resilience, and goal-setting.
My life motto is, “Everyone has a story.” I desire to help others understand themselves while assisting them as they write the next chapters in their personal journey. I strive to bring hope and support to those who want to make positive changes in their lives.
I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from California Baptist University. I concentrated in Life Span Development and minored in Business Administration. I also have a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University.
Before moving to the beautiful Pacific Northwest, I, and my husband who serves in the Army, lived in Alabama. I enjoy running, hiking, swimming, drawing, and cooking as well as spending time with family and close friends.
Therapeutic Style
I have a passion to help clients achieve their goals and move toward positive change. My approach to counseling is to create a safe and warm therapeutic environment that builds on the client’s strengths and resilience. I have training in a variety of therapies that include working with attachment, marriage, family, and crisis intervention. In addition to my counseling work, I have worked extensively with children, youth, and their parents as an athletic coach, operating a mentor program, serving as teacher’s assistant, and tutor. I strive to understand each person in order to meet their individual needs and to bring hope to those struggling through difficult circumstances.
