Biographical Information

I am a Seattle native and was raised with a passion for sports and athletics. I still enjoy playing soccer, snowboarding, and rooting for the Seahawks and Sounders. In 2008, I received my Master's in Counseling from Northwest University in Kirkland, WA, where I studied counseling psychology and multicultural issues in a faith based curriculum.

Since 2006, I have worked in a variety of mental health settings including residential treatment, substance abuse treatment, outpatient mental health, church based counseling, case management for foster children, and crisis support for servicemembers and veterans. I have ample experience with anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder among many other diagnosis. I have a heart for those who are experiencing the challenging life issues that arise in marriage and divorce, single parenting, issues of faith, and the complexities of the teenage years.

Therapeutic Style

My theoretical approach to therapy begins with a foundation of cognitive behavioral techniques, with aspects of problem solving counseling, dialectical behavioral therapy and faith based counseling as fits the patient. Each patient and situation is unique. Together we will formulate goals and a plan to meet your needs and my approach will reflect those needs.

I believe counseling should be a place where you feel comfortable being open and honest, where solutions to problems can be uncovered, relationships can be rebuilt and restored, and where functionality, joy and peace can be discovered after it has been lost. I feel that mental illness should be addressed without stigma or judgment, but with compassion.
